Gîte Faune at Vive le Vert
Sleeps 8 · 3 bedrooms · 2 bathrooms
About this home
A characterful stone gîte for up to eight, with private terraces, three bedrooms and an open sleeping loft. Enjoy the shared saltwater pool and leafy gardens at Vive le Vert, on the edge of Bussière-Badil.
Blue shutters, old stone and a terrace made for long summer suppers: Faune is the larger of Vive le Vert’s two gîtes. Set in a leafy 1.5-hectare estate on the edge of Bussière-Badil, this 125 m² home has room for up to eight guests, with a shared saltwater pool and plenty of places to sit outside.
Space to spend time together
Downstairs, settle into the sitting room after a day exploring the Dordogne, or gather around the dining table. The separate kitchen has a ceramic hob, oven, microwave, large fridge and dishwasher, along with a coffee maker, kettle and toaster. A washing machine is provided, and Wi-Fi is available.
Three bedrooms, plus an open sleeping loft
- Ground floor: a bedroom with a double bed, and a shower room with toilet and basin.
- Upstairs: one twin bedroom and a second bedroom with two single beds that can be joined as a double on request.
- The open loft has two additional beds, bringing the total capacity to eight.
- A second upstairs shower room has a toilet and basin.
The layout gives two families or a group of friends room to spread out. The loft beds are in an open area rather than a separate fourth bedroom.
Terraces, gardens and a shared pool
Faune has private terraces at the front and back, with an outdoor dining table for eight and a barbecue. Beyond them, the estate’s gardens offer lawns, shaded seating and sunbeds. The 9 × 4 metre saltwater swimming pool is shared with the other gîte, Flore.
Explore the northern Dordogne
Vive le Vert sits on the edge of Bussière-Badil, with woodland walks, swimming lakes and small market towns to explore. Pick up local produce in Piégut-Pluviers, spend an afternoon at the Grand Étang de Saint-Estèphe, or plan a day out in Brantôme or Angoulême.
Indicative driving times supplied by the host are around 11 minutes to Piégut-Pluviers, 13 minutes to Saint-Estèphe lake and 41 minutes to Brantôme. Limoges airport is about an hour away; Bergerac and Bordeaux airports are further options. Angoulême railway station is approximately 45 km away. A car is useful for exploring the area.
Good to know
