Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation and refund outcomes depend on the accommodation provider’s versioned policy, the booking agreement, the recorded payment state and applicable law.

Before a booking is confirmed
A request-first enquiry is not confirmed merely because it was submitted. If a provider declines or a request expires before the guest completes an approved payment step, the service records that outcome and releases the booking hold according to its current state.
A normal request asks for no card details and creates no payment or card hold. After approval, a booking is confirmed only when the guest completes the immediate payment within the limited payment window.
After confirmation
The dated booking agreement identifies the accommodation provider and records the cancellation-policy version and property rules accepted for that stay. Those terms and applicable law determine whether a cancellation charge, partial refund or full refund is due.
ChezFrance does not promise a universal cooling-off period, free cancellation window or refund outcome on this information page. A provider must not use its property wording to misrepresent ChezFrance or silently replace the immutable terms already recorded for a booking.
How a refund is recorded
Where a refund is authorised, it is created against the original payment in the same connected merchant account and recorded in the booking ledger. ChezFrance application-fee adjustments are calculated from the recorded refundable amounts; the service does not move the charge into a ChezFrance merchant account.
