About this home
A characterful three-bedroom gîte for four adults and four children, with a double-height lounge, private courtyard, garden and fire pit, plus use of La Saucisserie’s shared heated pool.
Original stonework and a double-height lounge give La Cour its distinctive character. Once part of the sausage factory that gave La Saucisserie its name, it now makes a comfortable family base with its own courtyard and garden.
Inside the gîte
Upstairs are two king-size double or twin bedrooms and a farm-themed children’s room with two sets of bunk beds, sleeping up to four adults and four children. The ground-floor bathroom has a large walk-in rain shower and a bath.
The kitchen has a four-burner gas hob, Ninja oven and air fryer, microwave, fridge-freezer and Nespresso machine. A dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi and electric heaters are provided.
Courtyard evenings
Enjoy meals outside in the private courtyard, settle into the garden seating or gather around the fire pit. A barbecue is provided, and the shared heated pool is close at hand for summer swims.
Enjoy La Saucisserie
The four gîtes share 2.3 hectares of grounds, with lawns, woods and a stream. The fenced, heated 11 × 5 m pool opens from May to September. Children can enjoy the swings, slide and trampoline, while table tennis, pétanque, badminton and giant chess offer plenty to do together.
Le Petit Cochon, the on-site bar, has a pool table, darts and a television. Mountain bikes and a tandem are available to hire, and there is secure bike storage. Cots and highchairs can be requested.
Explore the Green Dordogne
Saint-Pierre-de-Frugie is around 500 m away, with an organic grocery and bistro. La Coquille, around 5 km away, has a railway station with services towards Limoges and Bordeaux. This is a peaceful base for countryside walks, cycling and days out in the Dordogne.
Arrival and tourist tax
Check-in is from 16:00 and check-out is by 10:00. Please enquire about early arrival or late departure; these may be possible for a small additional charge, by arrangement.
Tourist tax is not included in the accommodation price and is payable to the host on arrival. The current rate is €1.10 per adult per night and may change.
